We Are Getting Anxious - Can You Tell???

Aaron and I have had a lot of these conversations while watching the goats lately - "Aaron how many babies do think (insert name here) is going to have?" "I don't know mom - two or three? Five?"

Being in a goofy mood the other day, I thought hmmmm. . . and brought a barcode scanner home from work. Really had Aaron going for a bit - he thought we might really be able to ultrasound and see just how many babies there are! Well, I don't think the kids have barcodes on them, so it didn't work too well. But as you can see, we did have fun with it! By the time we were done playing Cupid even wanted to be checked out =)

Its Beginning to Look Alot Like Baby Time!!

Reese and Candy (and two other does) are due in a month!! Wouldn't you say that they are right on schedule?? I am sure that they are more than happy to have the pregnancy related hot flashes right about now!

See, I TOLD you all it was COLD in Idaho!!!

Poor goats ears froze off!!! No, not really, she is a Lamancha doe. Lamancha's have ears they are just very small! They either have "gopher" ears like this little gal or "elf" ears that have a bit more ear to them. She was bred to our polled Nigerian buckling and is expecting first generation Mini-Lamancha kids in February. She IS the ONLY Lamancha on the place though, so I am just waiting for someone to ask us just why we did let her ears freeze off!

DeEp FrEeZe!!!!

Though I cannot STAND to be hot and have sweat running in my eyes, I can quite honestly, after this week, say I cannot STAND being freezing cold either!!! Well, no, that is not quite right, I can bundle up and stay warm, but I can't deal with this . . .it is simply TOO MUCH!!! After a week of temeratures plunging below zero, breaking a bucket and putting the pic-axe through the side of a trough, I got down and dirty and figured out how to get tank heaters going for ALL off the animals! Now I just have to worry about tripping over extension cords and flipping breakers!! It is supposed to warm up this week-end when it snows - we can only hope right?
