New Chore Time Arrivals!!

So today was pen cleaning day. Let the does out of the barn to stretch their legs and clean their pens. Well, Havarti didn't want to leave the barn. I thought it was because I was being lazy and using the tractor today instead of the wheel barrow and had left the tractor running in the barn door. Got the new sawdust and straw down and about five o'clock, Havarti started pushing! Sheesh if I had only known she just wanted clean bedding . . . Twins - buck/doe. The bucks are winning this year . . .

We are GOOD kids - HONEST!!

We don't know what we did to deserve this! Kicked out to the garage and given a bucket for a "mamma"!! But we are adjusting and LOVE the extra room to play!! Poor Tenor - when he came in from the barn, he had no idea how to play with the other kids!!

Good Things Come To Those Who Wait

And believe me, we have waited what seems like forever for a nice spring like day! Yesterday was nice but today was even nicer! Sunny and warm and the birds were just a singing! We took the last four babies outside to play and they loved it! We brought Mr. Tenor in to visit with them but he quite arrogantly said "I don't play with goats" and led his mother on a merry chase back to the barnyard.

# 4 & #5 have arrived!

Well, Babe pulled a quicky on me the other morning! At the one o'clock alarm, she was just standing there chewing cud. Went potty, got a drink, came back and checked the camera again and a baby was just standing up! Threw some clothes out and trotted to the barn to discover that what I saw was the second baby! Did a quick check in the barn, yeah! A correctly colored doeling! Got them in the house and cleaned up and fed and fell back into bed. Wasn't until Friday evening that I discoverd that that perfect little doeling is in fact a buckling! Hey it was dark and he was cold and I was in a hurry! He is very nicely put together and of course both are for sale!

Candy's Kids

Though she had gotten terribly large, Candy freshened with good size twin doe kids last night. We had our monthly 4-H meeting her at the house, but she was determined and waited until they had left to have the first kid! Her udder is huge and right now looks better than it ever has! I am hoping we can keep her happy, healthy and stress free so she can go for that last championship leg this May!

Still in a holding pattern here . . .

. . . poor Candy - she would like someone to send her a skateboard to help her carry her tummy around! We've moved Babe into the barn tonight - HUGE change in her udder overnight and we are having night time lows in the teens, so we didn't want to take any chances on her kidding out time since she is a first freshener.
